Building Self Confidence

Tags: , , , , , ,

Liberate yourself – Go out and do what you like! – How long it has been since you last went to have a walk among the pines something that you loved as a child? How long has it been when you walked hand in hand with your friend to the bakery and tossed a coin to decide what to buy? These might seem very simple things but these simple things have the power to add on to build great confidence and fulfilment. Life if see is actually quite simple. What gets a bit too complex though is to remain simple. Isnt it? Just as small drops of water make the mighty ocean, the little things you enjoy doing have the capability to turn you into a storehouse of confidence. When God made you, He put a desire in your heart and bestowed onto you the capability to achieve it. However, in the process of growing up, you forgot what exactly your purpose was, what is that you liked and what is that you enjoyed doing. It does happen with lots and lots of people who do feel like breaking free but are too tied up in their day to day responsibilities that it gets impossible for them to spare even 10 minutes to reflect on their lives, their direction, their dreams and goals. Its our duty to clear the mess that prevents us from hearing to our heart. The conversations with your heart should keep getting clearer and the best way to do it is to find time to do what you enjoy. And since you enjoy doing that activity, it straightaway means that you have all the aptitude and intelligence necessary to do the job effortlessly even though you may not realize it.

Find your flock – Birds of a feather flock together. You must find out people with whom you enjoy being. They are certainly the people of your frequency and the energy flow between you and them is natural. Life becomes easy when you are among the people who are more or less on the same plane of thought as you and its easier to relate to them. They seem to understand you and vice versa thus creating conditions for healthy conversations. A good conversation is a very healthy exercise and an important need of our mind. We all want our ideas to be heard and appreciated and a good company provides platform for the same.

Set Achievable Goals and Go for it! – The journey of a thousand miles begins with a single step. The idea is to begin with a small single step that can then further developed into giant strides. Learn to do the work at hand rather than to overwhelm oneself by looking at the entirety of a mammoth looking task. Just like the soil underneath your foot, the top of mountain too would someday be under your step. The only way to do something is to GO FOR IT! No matter how small the progress is the focus should be on completing a task successfully even though its a small task. A series of big uncompleted task is a sure shot way to depression. Break a big task into a list of small tasks to be completed. Tick off from your list each job successfully completed. A completed task no matter how small it is gives a sense of achievement that boosts our confidence and equips us with more energy to try a bigger task.

Purse Envy Syndrome PES

Tags: , , , , , ,

A dictionary meaning of envy is a feeling of discontent and resentment aroused by and in conjunction with desire for the possessions or qualities of another. People have feelings of envy for many reasons. A new emerging form of envy is what I call Purse Envy Syndrome PES. PES has taken on different facets for different people and taken on various meanings over the last several years. PES has been a male dominated syndrome, though few will admit to it. Men are fascinated with womens purses from the time they are boys. As boys they pull at their moms purses for attention and sometimes search through the bags searching for the goodies she has stored inside. As they get older, they do the same process with their girlfriends and then their wives. They not only are fascinated with what she carries in her bag, but often ask for her to carry their items in the bag!

Men are not the only ones with PES. Women can have it too! In fact, they get it even worse than men! Women fantasize about carrying designer label purses or ones similar to celebrities. Who wouldnt want a Kate Spade, Louis Vuitton, Brighton, Coach, Gucci, Marc Jacobs, or Dooney and Bourke? Most women arent lucky enough to be able to afford the designer labels, but lucky for us, there are very good replicas on the market. If you decide to splurge and buy an authentic designer purse, please buy it from a reputable source. Unfortunately, there are sellers that try to sell replicas as the real thing. There are many reputable sources for buying replicas as well. Replicas should not infringe on the rights on the authentic purse. They should in no way pass themselves off as the real thing.

Women comb through fashion magazines looking for what celebrities are wearing and what accessories they are wearing and carrying. Everyone wants to be able to sport the latest fashions. It seems that one of the best ways for us to do that is to watch the stars and try to mimic their style. It seems each star tries to make their own statement by wearing and carrying different designers, shapes and styles. So how do we keep pace? Again, we luck out! We dont have to keep pace. We choose the styles we like best and go with those.

Women also look to their friends and people they see at the mall or restaurants to find new trends. How many times have you seen someone with a purse and said to yourself, I wish I knew where she got that purse? Sometimes you may be brave enough to approach the woman and ask. You should not be afraid to ask someone where they got their purseits very flattering! Dont you love it when someone notices what you have on or the shoes or purse you are carrying? Most women are more than happy to tell you where they got their purse. If they wont tell you, try searching the internetyou may luck out and find it yourself!

Women fret about matching their shoes with their purse or finding the right purse to match an outfit. After all, the right purse makes the outfit complete! Rest assured, that in todays world, the purse no longer has to match the shoes! You can be wild and crazy, calm and sedate, conservative or classyits all about what makes you feel good about yourself that counts. Your purse says a lot about yourself, so use it to express the many nuances that make you YOU. Carry different purses for different occasions that allow you to show the many sides of you.

So, what is the answer to PES and how do you overcome it? There is no quick answer to this ongoing syndrome. Most men are not going to buy a purseif they did, they are afraid they would be called a sissy. The man purse is gaining popularity in Europe and Australia, but not likely to gain popularity in the US. Women will always want to look their best and have the latest fashions. PES is here to stay and most likely will grow to overwhelming proportions. My suggestion is to give in to the syndrome and go buy a purse!

Dehydration The Silent Killer

The human body is made up of about 70 percent water. Under normal conditions it loses some body water through sweat, tears, urine and stool. Water also evaporates from the skin and leaves the body in the form of vapor when people breathe. Because of these facts, dehydration becomes a major health concern among many individuals. Dehydration is a condition in which the body lacks water and electrolytes. Electrolytes are substances which contains free ions that are used by the body in important cellular activity. This condition may lead to serious ailments and even death if not given proper attention.

One major cause of dehydration is insufficient consumption of water. Coupled with intensely hot weather, insufficient water intake may lead to severe dehydration or heatstroke severe form of heat illness. In addition to these factors, other causes of dehydration may include intense workouts and other excruciating physical activities. These activities may cause excessive sweating and deplete the body of electrolytes and other necessary nutrients. Other causes of dehydration can be digestive problems caused by defects, illness or reaction to gastric bypass or other surgeries on the stomach. Health ailments like nausea and vomiting or diarrhea are other causes of dehydration. Too much alcohol and coffee consumption may also cause dehydration.

However, intense exhaustion and sever dehydration may need immediate medical attention. Understanding the causes, symptoms, and possible treatments for dehydration may enable many individuals to be conscious of their water intake and improve their health.

“Getting Around The Weight Loss Plateau”

The typical human form is capable of achieving a number of incredible feats that seem to suspend or defy the way science tells us things work. Athletes, through sheer willpower, can end up lifting something that their bodies should not be able to without suffering anything worse than muscle spasms. People can adapt to extreme physical trauma caused by a car accident and defy predictions that they’ll never walk again. While, in general, these amazing feats are useful in a number of situations, there are physical reactions that some people look upon with quite a bit of disfavor. Among these disfavored reactions is something known as a weight loss plateau.

Essentially, the plateau is a term used to describe a situation where the body has become incapable of losing any further weight, usually due to developing a tolerance for the weight loss pills and methods being used. Essentially, the plateau is hit when the body develops tolerance for the regimen’s limitations and practices, thus allowing the metabolic rate of the body to adjust to whatever weight loss pills or techniques were being used. Most diet books decidedly ignore the existence of the plateau, primarily because it can be seen as negating the purpose of the diet and is, therefore, bad for marketing. There are, however, ways to counteract the human body building a tolerance for training regimens and weight loss pills.

The human metabolism, when presented with a pattern, will eventually adapt to that pattern. It is this natural adaptability of the human body that can cause the weight loss plateau, particularly if the person’s diet and eating habits have been altered for weight loss. As such, changing the pattern will, once a sufficient amount of time has passed, allow your diet plan or weight loss pills to become effective again. This trick essentially involves confusing the human metabolism, and is often taken as a rather drastic way to get the body back in diet mode. There are, of course, several ways to effectively alter that pattern without causing the body permanent harm.

Adding strength and weight training and modifying one’s exercise program can also help someone get past the plateau, in most cases. The body will still burn through nutrients during physical activity, though the digestive system’s metabolic rate can adapt such that more weight is retained rather than burned during exercise. Increasing the difficulty of the exercises, or changing the movements to target less-developed muscle areas, can effectively force the body to re-adapt. While the body is busy adapting to the changes, it can also start losing weight again. This method is best used with alterations to the person’s diet, however, to maximize the effectiveness.

Another trick used to circumvent the problem of the plateau is to make changes to the time frame between meals. The internal clock that the human body’s digestive system operates on can be altered to suit one’s purposes, provided one executes the proper alterations to one’s diet and eating habits. A simple action like altering the schedule of the meals, such as adding more meals but reducing the bulk of each, can have an appreciable effect on altering the metabolic rate. The key concept of this method is to fool the body into burning the food faster, thus getting one’s weight loss program and diet back on track.

When considering the options, it is helpful to keep in mind that what works for one person may not work for another person. Some slower metabolisms may require combination of diet program and exercise regimen modifications, while others can get by with merely shortening the break between meals. The critical point is to find a method that works and is effective for a specific metabolism, which can be a time-consuming process.

Obesity Determining The Cause And Developing The Remedy

The number of people gaining unwanted and enormous weight around the world has become a cause of alarm for health experts around the world. The World Health Organization WHO has put the worldwide total obese people at more than 1 billion. This number is expected to rise to about 1.5 billion in less than 10 years. Obesity is one of the reasons why a lot of people suffer from many health ailments. Being obese or having too much fat than what the human body needs, can lead to many health conditions like type 2 diabetes, coronary heart disease, high blood pressure, high blood pressure, arthritis, sleep apnea, and stroke.

Because of these dangers, it is important to determine the right body fat. Many health professionals use the body mass index BMI to determine if individuals are carrying too much fat. It is based on one’s height and waist, and estimates whether one’s weight is healthy or not and if one is overweight and obese. These health experts say that a healthy BMI for individuals is between 19 and 26. A BMI of 27 to 30 is regarded as overweight, while 30 above is classified as obese. If one’s BMI is below 19, it may lead to health problems like osteoporosis, malnutrition, liver disease, and inadequate absorption of nutrients from the intestines. BMI applies to individuals, regardless of their sex, age, frame size or muscle mass.

Many health studies show that one’s BMI may not be an accurate indication of one’s fat composition. There are some exceptions that may be applied in determining one’s BMI. Because muscle weighs more than fat, the BMI overestimates the body fat in many individuals with low body fat and a lot of muscle. In addition, BMI underestimates the body fat in elderly people.

Body fat can be determined by underwater weighing, by the use calipers and other special equipment that can used to calculate how much body fat a person possess. When special apparatus and equipments are not available many health experts believe that measuring one’s waist can an easy way of determining one’s health. For men, a waist measurement of 40 indicates a high risk for health ailments. For women, a considerable figure is 35 inches or more.

Rather than searching for a cure for obesity or a way to figure out one’s body content, the cause of obesity should be given priority. When more calories are taken than burned off, weight gain may occur. Eating too much calories than what the human body needs is one of the main cause of the rise of obesity in many societies. In addition, the busy lives of people in the 21st century made it harder for individuals to cook and prepare healthy meals. Nowadays, prepared foods and fast food deliveries have become the first option when it comes to food choices. These foods are high in fat and calories. Work schedules, long commutes, and work commitments have taken the time for physical activities. These factors have contributed to the rising number of individuals who are overweight and obese.

People should remember that there are no shortcuts to good health. People who are overweight or obese should consider in a change in lifestyles and food regimen. Doctors and other health professionals should be consulted to develop a plan that might work for certain individuals. For sure, these health experts will advise a nutritious diet and plenty of physical activities to be involved in one’s diet. Improvements in these areas may lead to improved overall health and enhanced well-being.
