OCD Victim Why we do what we do

Tags: , , , , ,

Where does an OCD sufferer begin to start? to explain what compels them to do the things that are slowly destroying them inside or the people around them.
Catch 22
Do you suffer in silence to please your loved ones or show them the door?

Being an OCD sufferer for as long as I can remember has left me a dedicated addict to Temazepam.
The tablets will help was the doctors very words. I also recall him saying, how I would kill myself if I carried on doing what I was doing.

Those life threatening rituals regardless of those words of wisdom from my local GP are still being carried out.

Prescription prescribed one psychologist.

How could he help? Questions raised by the psychologist were that of my childhood. Questions like was I abused as a child. Well if that being the case I certainly was not going to confide in or tell a complete stranger.
Some things stay hidden in the closet and are taken to the grave.

Most OCD victims may have suffered at some stage in their life some form of abuse.

In a way this makes sense, but what of our fellow sufferers with no abusive upbringing where do the answers lie?

So severe is the urge to cleanse ourselves, we enter into another world where we find contentment in releasing our energies in habitual rituals that we no longer have control over.

Is there a cure? Yes of course, all we do is stop what we are doing, how?

By not committing ourselves to listen to those little voices in our heads any longer.
Demon’s who cast an opinion on how we run our lives. What right have they to enter our heads uninvited? Rid of these devils and we have the antidote for the poison inflicted upon us.

For an invisible force they win hands down every time.

Help comes in many forms as in i.e. medication relaxation classes, herbal tonics etc. Depending on the individual and of course how severe the symptoms

Therapies differ and do work with high success rates for many sufferers. Recommending what is best for you is out of my jurisdiction we all differ greatly in our needs to find the cure.

The first step on the road to recovery is to face up to the problem. Will this cure me you ask? No, but it will certainly slow down the process of putting yourself into an early grave.

OCD is about speed, the quicker one job or task is done; it is time to move onto the next. This death sentence that I have imposed upon myself is challenged each day by slowing down.

Do a little research on the illness to find how you can help yourself; this helped me greatly in my search for freedom
Finding the time to read was another step forward, because to have done this. I knew I had then put another chore on the back burner.

Half the battle is won for a victim of OCD if they can be heard in the way that they want to be understood.

A move in the right direction is to talk to fellow sufferers of this self destroying disease.

2 of the population are victims to this uncontrollable force behind why we do what we do.

Alienate these aliens by becoming a force with other OCD victims in the battle against self destruction because that is exactly what it is, Self Destruction.

And the most dangerous accomplice on this mission is YOU.

Is Obsessive Compulsive Disorder A Hand Me Down

Many a question has gone unanswered why people suffer from OCD and the reason for that is there is no known answer. What we do know? is that obsessive compulsive disorder affects 2 of the people in the UK. It is a disorder where a sufferer performs repetitive actions to relieve anxiety

OCD without doubt is a type of anxiety disorder and the good news, it is treatable.

None of us escape unpleasant thoughts every one of us at some time have had experience of this way of thinking. Fortunately for some they manage to banish these thoughts unlike that of a victim of OCD who struggle to control their behaviour brought on as a result by these nasty thoughts in which the content can relate to aggression and violence.

Fear of contamination is a symptom that burrows deep into a patient’s mind leaving them with a sense of insecurity where they feel dirty and unclean hence habitual compulsory hand washing. Then we have the worrier who constantly doubles back on them selves checking to secure doorswindows etc.
Frustration is high on the cards for an infected person who plays the number game where counting denotes how and when things are done, little things like the arranging of objects can escalate out of control for a sufferer if moved out of place.

Peace of mind is all an infected person is in search of and by fulfilling tasks that have become an obsession, it is then they find contentment even if only for a little while. Compulsive behaviours are carried out religiously by people with OCD to help counteract depressionanxiety brought on by their obsessions.

The reason behind why people suffer from OCD is unknown but there are factors that can be taken into account where some evidence has shown that it runs in the family, this does not mean that your actions are duplicated like that of your blood brothers. Disorders such as trichotillomania and picking of the skin, are quite common hand me downs.

People who have no understanding on this condition would see habits performed by an OCD sufferer as a sign of madness. Health of an infected person can deteriorate due to self inflicted stress by trying to conceal their actions. Stop, for all you know the person next to you may also be doing the same.

Come out of the closet so as to speak and make the illness visible. People in your life that matter can not help what they can not see

Leprosy went out with the ark where people were sectioned off away from the land of the living. 2 is a rather large percentage of people suffering from obsessive compulsive disorder. So you are not on your own, so why go it alone.

Over Compulsive Disorder – OCD I Cry Alone

To gain control of our actions first we need to face up to the OCD and believe in ourselves that we can fight this fight single handed if need be. I say single handed purely because this battle is one sided between you and you. Medication is readily available to combat and ease the symptoms but for results you have to work hand in hand with prescribed medicines and listen to medical advisors. This has proven to be successful for many of our fellow sufferers of over compulsive disorderOCD

Patients in desperation who take a stand and decide enough is enough, go on to topple this illness thus claiming contentment after liberation. The cure is out there whether you opt to take it is another matter, freedom beats being a prisoner inside of your own thoughts where mind over matter, matters.
All patients differ where in some cases symptoms are more severe than that of others. There is no need to try and beat this alone, yes I did mention this was between you and you, but where is the harm in having a little support behind you.

The cause behind many a sufferer’s OCD remains a mystery, regardless of not knowing why and how it all started the sufferer continues to carry on with their repetitive compulsions in return for peace of mind.
A combination of factors have been addressed which could probably be the cause, it has not been ruled out that in some cases it is hereditary. More prone to OCD are people who are susceptible to stress. Perfectionists also come under threat from developing this disorder.

In America approx one in 50 adults currently suffer from obsessive-compulsive disorder OCD double that number for the amount of people who in the past at some point been gripped by this self destroying illness.

2 of the population have been recognised as sufferers of OCD but just who really are the true sufferers. Family, friends, children even strangers are affected. Any one in general who proves to be a threat where an OCD patient is interrupted or prevented from performing hisher repetitive rituals in the home or out on the street is not welcomed with open arms.
Figure in numbers for all infected and affected by OCD, is now a population over populated with an epidemic.

I still fight this battle alone but as I stated earlier the success rate in curing an over compulsive disorder OCD sufferer is quite high but it is a time thing so don’t expect miracles overnight. I am going to be honest with all who are reading this article. I found coping with my OCD over the years easier than trying to fight it where it caused a lot of heartache and pain. I hasten to add most importantly at this point we all differ greatly. What works for one may not work for the other.

Symptoms of OCD to an outsider can be looked on as quite hilarious, but then you have the fellow sufferer with understanding on obsessive compulsive disorder who can relate to why a victim’s tears just keep on flowing.
Please consult a doctor if you or someone close may have developed any signs of this disorder.

A little advice, if you choose to ignore this warning then I know I do cry not alone.

OCD Over Compulsive Disorder – Dying On The Inside

At least one in fifty adults in America suffer with Over Compulsive Disorder OCD double that number for the others who at some time in their lives have been affected by this controlling disease. The frightening thing is how many more are to be cursed by this death sentence imposed on the brain. Speaking from experience it has to be the fatigue factor that without a doubt is the cause behind the bouts of anxiety that accompanies OCD…

When the brain becomes abusive with an onslaught of verbal threats to do thisthat and the other, your body becomes powerless to fight back. Lethargic and drained of all energy your body like that of a rag doll limp and lifeless, waves the white flag and surrenders.

Obsessions and habitual acts that each individual experiences will differ greatly. One thing that does not change is the compassion towards each other from fellow sufferers who understand the reasons behind why we do what we do.
You will find being on the road to recovery less of a burden after confiding in someone for help, talking with others who are suffering from this condition is great place to start.

OCD is equally as common in both sex’s man woman boy and girl; symptoms have been diagnosed from an early age for many patients.
Obsessive rituals are stereotyped behaviours that are continually repeated causing anxiety where depression starts to sink in making this a major health concern for the patient.

There are so many different disorders relating to OCD but taking obsessive symptoms and obsessive thoughts are two that work hand in hand together in a similar way, a destructive force to contend with.

Sufferers with obsessive-compulsive disorder are more prone to anxietydepression bouts where on the other hand sufferers of recurrent depressive disorder can develop obsessive thoughts.
Differentiating between both can be quite difficult in some cases because of the frequency where symptoms occur at the same
Either way both destroy a person’s life eating away at their existence; OCD works its magical charm on anyone that proves to be a threat where obsessive rituals are prevented from being carried out.

Heaven forbid even as a do gooder looking on never tell a sufferer to stop what they are doing because the chances are you will find that you have just become public enemy number one. Let the patient in their own time figure it out for themselves when enough is enough.

Help clinics therapies and treatments are out there for those looking for a cure. Depending on the person and how severe their symptoms let the doctor decide what is the best medication for you.

Success stories where over compulsive disorder victims have been liberated gives the likes of you and me some hope for the future to go on living and destroy the heartfelt emotion of dying on the inside.

To lose a loved one is heartbreaking, to see some one you love in pain is heartbreaking, to leave your child on their first day of school is heartbreaking. All these sad events can be removed from our thoughts if nurtured tenderly and tactfully. But what of over compulsive disorder a disease you can not negotiate with thus causing the patient to suffer from heartbreaking symptoms till death do us part. In some unfortunate cases parting of the ways was by death. Suicide

Over compulsive disorder can change a person and their way of thinking therefore causing havoc in their lives, in other words turning their whole world upside down. Do not despair or give up on yourself as we live in the 21st century where OCD is taken very seriously by 21st century doctors. Living in the modern world has now given many victims of this illness the will to fight the disease. Remember you need not fight this battle alone. There is a lot of understanding people in the medical profession who on a daily basis are helping sufferers alike to recognise that the symptoms of OCD can be eased, put on hold or disappear.
Till death do we part still stands if you permit your OCD to take control, divorce your self from your own thoughts?

OCD has caused so much heartache in the lives of approx 3.3 million American adults. This disorder is suffered by both genders and can effect all ages. Symptoms present in a patient are obsessions and compulsions where the person will enact rituals repetitively. These actions differ greatly among sufferers of OCD. Depending on the severity of the condition people have been hospitalised due to anxiety attacks and the stress which aggressively forces the patient to lose control.
Obsessions are usually of intrusive thoughts and disturbing images. Compulsions are rituals which are performed over and over again in a bid to rid their obsessions developed or brought on by the devil as some would see it.
Over compulsive disorder is not a solo act it allows other dedicated followers to tag along like depression and anxiety. The effect that these partners in crime have on a patient can be devastating causing so much pain to the victim and their loved ones.
When this disease gets to grip where it is causing concern for your health then please do not hesitate to talk to someone. Medication and advice is readily available for those seeking help.

This may sound a little selfish but choosing to ignore medical help will only add further pain to you and your loved ones – family and friends. Good for you if you have sought help then it is only a matter of time. The process of healing does not happen over night. But for those who choose to ignore the help then you instigate the pain behind what your nearest and dearest feel.

Put the shoe on the other foot where you become the victim of a victim of OCD.
