How I Lost 51 Pounds In 4 Months Using The Simplest Diet Plan In The World

Like many people I’ve been on dozens of diet plans over the years ranging from Atkins to South Beach to Weightwatchers to Jenny Craig and lots more besides. In fact, I’ve eaten enough cabbage soup to satisfy a small country! I’m 5 feet 10 and I used to weigh 230 pounds and needed to lose a good 50 pounds to get myself in some short of shape. And then it hit me. It’s seems so logical now and so simple but I had ignored the simplest weight loss solution of all. Here’s how I discovered it.

I was over in the UK on vacation and saying with an Aunt. We were having tea together and my Aunt was watching her favourite daytime TV show called “Today with Des and Mel.” The host, a rather charming guy called Des O’Connor was being asked how he stayed so trim and slim and indeed virile at aged 70 he had just once again become a father and he gave me the simplest weight loss solution I have ever heard. In fact you’d be seriously challenged to find a fitter and more vibrant looking 70 year old anywhere on the planet.

Des’s answer was that he only eats one meal per day in the evening, and in fact eats as much as he wants at that one meal sitting. During the day he may well graze on a bit of fruit and naturally drinks plenty of fluids but he swears by the plan and has done for over 40 years.

This seemed so simple and ridiculously easy and I was very doubtful whether it would work for me. However, it’s based on pure logic. By missing out on significant calories during the day, the body makes up for it in the evening and then stores up calories to keep you going the next day until your evening meal. However, I’m no scientist or doctor and I’m only interested in results. Here’s how it worked for me.

Week One was a little challenging. I did nibble on the odd cookie to keep me going with my morning black coffee. I missed the social aspect of lunch but contented myself with knowing that I was doing my health and body a huge favor. In week one I lost 6 pounds and in the first month 15 pounds dropped off my body! However, having been on many diet programs over the years I was worried it could all come back.With this in mind I started a gentle walking program in the evenings after my meal of the day and this really helped me with my energy levels. I really didn’t want to visit a gym or stress myself by running.

I was eating everything I wanted in the evenings, including ice cream and lots of ribs and fries etc. However, after the first month my body seemed to start regulating itself and I didn’t seem to crave these heavy rich foods as much. I think my body started to learn that it needed to eat well and wholesome in the evenings so it could get through the next 24 hours.

In month two I dropped another 13 pounds. In month three I lost a further 12 pounds and in month four another 11 pounds making for a total weight loss of 51 pounds in FOUR months. Truly amazing. I’m still staggered by it. I don’t recommend this plan for life and have slowly reintroduced a healthy breakfast and a very light lunch. It’s a truly great plan for losing excess weight quickly though – and works like nothing I’ve ever tried before.

One year on and I’m still at my target weight of 180 pounds. I still do my walking exercise most evenings and feel 1000 better with loads more energy. I’ve recommended this plan to dozens of friends and I have to say it’s worked for 90 of them. Give it a shot, the odds are that it’ll work great for you too! Are you more or less constantly thinking about your weight, or whether youre eating or not eating?
Do you find that at times when you start eating that you just cant stop yourself? And then when your clothes dont fit do you decide to resolve that by eating more?

Often as a consequence of this common behaviour is that you will feel bad about yourself and imagine that everyone is thinking how big you are, thus increasing your anxiety about your eating and image, so that you eat more to comfort yourself.

You might not believe it yet there are steps you can take to get you out this self-destructive cycle and turn around the negative feelings that you experience.

When we are in these mind-traps we are habitually repeating thought patterns and acting on them without questioning where they come from and what they do for us.

A simple question such as What will that do for me? can often be the beginning of understanding ourselves better and our behaviour. Approaching the problem in this way can be the first step towards doing things differently.

It works like this a bad experience gives you the urge to go to the biscuit tin and eat as many biscuits as you can. But this time, instead of binging on biscuits, as yourself What will that do for me?

If the answer is something like It gives me a treat, ask yourself And if I have this treat, what does that do for me?; Again, wait for your answer, it may be something like, If I have this treat then I will feel appreciated. If this is your response carry on and ask yourself If I get to feel appreciated, what does that do for me? Listen for an answer and keep asking yourself the same question, until you can go no further with your responses. What youre looking for is the higher motivation behind the behaviour eating too many biscuits. By doing this on a regular basis you will get in touch with what you really want and take your first step to controlling the food cravings.

How Can You Lose Weight After Pregnancy

On average, a woman gains between 25 and 35 pounds during her pregnancy. During and labor and immediately after delivery a new mother might shed 10 to 15 pounds of that. This leaves from 10 to 25 additional pounds of weight left on the new moms new body. It can be a source of great shock, disappointment, frustration, and despair to a woman to discover that after giving birth she can no longer fit into the clothes she wore prior to the pregnancy.

Losing weight after pregnancy is not a fools errand, but neither is it an easy errand; it requires patience, a realistic attitude, a positive outlook, and when it comes down to it persistence and dedication. Have patience with yourself. The period of time following pregnancy is already exhausting and exasperating enough, on so many levels. Dont burden yourself further with guilt, shame, and unrealistic expectations.

Shedding excess weight after pregnancy is not an easy task, but it can be done. Every body is different. Rather than comparing your rate of postpartum weight loss to that of any other new mother, focus on sticking to the slow and steady path to the long-lasting results you crave a body that glows more than it ever did during or before you got pregnant.

There is a strong possibility that whoever reads this article is looking into ways of losing weight. In this article I describe how I went about losing my excess weight. I hope you enjoy the read.

I have had many problems with my weight throughout my life. Being overweight had a major negative effect on my confidence and made me feel down and at times depressed. When feeling low, I would comfort eat which merely added to the problem.

A few years ago I decided I had had enough of being fat and that it was time to do something about it. I was now more determined than ever to lose some of my excess weight. I had read about many different types of diet most of which I felt were not suitable for me and others which sounded disgusting.

What I required was my own type of weight loss program. I have never liked the thought of attending a gym, they seem to be full of thin people, however I knew that exercise would need to be a factor. Instead, I started to walk a lot more instead of driving everywhere, I also started to play football and tennis again. The thought of going out jogging did not really appeal to me, however I did buy an exercise bike which I kept in my bedroom.

As well as exercise, I also realised that I had to change my eating habits. I am somebody who likes to eat all the wrong types of food. I love all types of take away including pizzas, a curry, a chinese, and chips. I would always be snacking in between meals, on things like peanuts and crisps. I also was rather partial to alcohol, this is something which helped me to gain confidence.

The thought of cutting all of these things out of my life seemed to harsh, so I decided that I would start to write down everything I ate. This way I could see exactly what I could cut out.

This is what I decided to eat on average per day.

I would eat a healthy breakfast such as toast or cerial. I would try not to eat any snacks in between any meals, this was the thing that would be most difficult to stick to. I did however come up with a plan which you will probably think is daft. Whenever I felt hungry or a desire for food I would eat a polo mint or if I was at home, would clean my teeth. Sounds crazy but it worked for me!

For lunch I would also stick to something healthy like pasta, however for my evening meal, I decided that I could eat anything that I wanted, including curry. On the weekend I would always treat myself to a takeaway and would allow myself some alcohol.

This type of diet needs a lot of discipline and character, however it hs helped me to become a lot more confident and happy with life.
